Have you had a look at the heating system recently?

This week has certainly seen the Autumn kick in here in the south of England with the rain and the temperature is sure to dip down soon.. If you are one for getting up early you will already start to notice the drop in temperature.. It led me to ponder my usage of my central heating at home over the past year, and how I use it.

When was the last time you switched your heating on? Although we haven’t had the best of summers, we haven’t had a cold summer by any means so just how long ago was it when you had to go and turn all the radiators on?

If you do not check it often enough it can cause some problems. Perhaps you are having troubles lighting the boiler, then lucky you.. Some of the worst cases involve smoking and even explosions.. The worst situation is if the boiler releases the lethal gas as this can actually kill..

Make sure you have the boiler serviced now otherwise winter will kick in and you will have no chance.. Although it can be expensive to call in a plumber to have a look at the boiler, it is certainly better to be safe than sorry. You do need to watch out for people who aren’t legitimate though. There are many lists out there with registered companies who are officially trusted by people and using one of these might be a good idea.

If you have a poor heating system chances are you have an expensive heating bill. Double glazing is important too as it keeps all of the warmth inside your home.

Other ideas for the home are de humidifier and dessicant as well as a Weather station
